Backup Solution?

I

Ingit

I have a old AMD-500 that I want to use as a "backup" system. using cd-rw
right now and doing weekly backups of important data, but would like to
automate this so my family doesnt have to worry about it, or me doing it.
Currently have 4 other computers on a home network, everything functions
properly. what I would like to do is as follows;

1. backup all of my other computers to this networked box automatically
everynight.

2. store a system image for every computer with the ability to restore
across the network.

my question is to anyone who has experience in the area is this...is this
possible? and if so, what software would you recommend? I'm not a newbie to
this by any means, but would like some info on what is the best solution.
maybe some reading you could point me to.

the box i plan to use will be barebones, and only WinXP and the backup
software. I've seen enterprise solutions, but I cant really spend the kind
of money some manufacturers want. looking for something reasonably priced,
accurate, and safe. between all of my systems, i'm running about 200 used
of 600gig of HD space, the drive i plan on using has 160gig.

hope this question is to baffling, but i've had good luck using these
newsgroups before and will take any info into serious consideration.

TIA
Ingit

stomp backup MYPC has limitations if your backup up to
cdrw. But if I read you right your backing up to hard
drive and there is no limitation there. Stomps Backup
MyPC supports network drives, Microsoft terminal
service,Microsoft Windows Workgroups and Web Client
Network
So if you use the above, I think your ok with this
product. I use it just to backup my pc and I very pleased
with it. It also support scheduling

update . from your host computer stomp backup mypc will
back up data from other computers, but not will not back
up the registry, system state, Active Directory, or
Bindery and Trustee information which you'll need. But if
you just take the installation cd to each of your
computers. Each computer could backup to your host
computer.
