I have ghost, and I have used google, this was more an opinion question, to
see if anybody has used any from experience....

I want backup software that allows specific files to be backed up, rather
than the whole hard-disk to an image....

but thanks for the input....

NTBackup, which is installed by default with XP pro, and is provided
(but not installed) on the 'real XP CD' with XP Home. Note that mangled
OEM XP CDs and/or 'restore CDs' may well not have it. Note also that it
won't backup directly to CD.

Failing that, buy the non-toyware version of the same thing,
'BackupMyPC' from StompInc.

I backup My Documents everyday, set to run automatically on schedule at
1a.m, using Keren Kenworthy's Replicator. Other files, folders, e.g. My
Favourites, cabinets and even whole partitions can be backed up too, but I
haven't tried, yet. Incremental and logical operations (AND, OR, etc.) are
inclusive, as you would expect.

For Outlook Express folders, I use MVP David Guess' OEBackup.

For backing up my entire working partition, I use Nick McCamy's DrvImagerXP.

I am happy to report they are all working very well. By the way, these are
not freeware; they are...er...... contribution-much-appreciated software.
