Backup Problem

Hi,

I rebuilt my machine last week. I backed up all contents
and then restored them onto the machine.

The proble now is that everything that has been restored
(File Wise) has only 8 characters and all UPPER CASE
letters? Does anyone know how this could have happened
and is there a solution to this problem?

Any ideas greatly welcomed.

How did you back the contents of you machine?

The problem you are experiencing is the infamous MS-DOS
Fallback of file names to 8.3.

There should be a program to restore this problem under
Windows 95. Though I'm not sure if there is a program to
restore your file names under Windows XP.

I backed up using the usual Nero drag and drop.

What is the tool I can use for windows XP to restore the
files.
