Backing up is hard to do

Why does my incremental backup erase all the data from my previous normal
backup when it is run? What I want to do is to do one full, normal backup,
then change the settings in NTBackup from normal to incremental and then
have it do an incremental backup to the same backup file (ie, just add
whatever new data / files have been added or changed in files in the folders
I've chosen to backup). Can someone puhleeze help me?

Cheers,
Håvard

This may be a linguistic issue. "Incremental" means that the job should
back up all files that have changed since the previous backup.
"Append" means that the process should add data to the end of
the current tape. The two modes can be set independently from
each other.
