Backing Uo System Volume Information

The Question: Is it necessary to back up this huge file? I figure if
Windows fails, I will reinstall it, together with applications and
data files. I assulme that the SVI folder would be recreated anew by
the installation. All responses appreciated. Thanks.

No. It makes more sense to either 1) just back up your personal stuff, or
2) better yet, backup the entire system, by cloning or imaging it (like with
Acronis True Image)

Most of the space is consumed by restore points. There isn't any reason to
backup those things.
Leave the SVI folder alone.
