Hi

I have asked a designer to create a background template for me to insert
into my ppt. The template is in jpg format. How can i insert the jpg into the
slide master of my powerpoint presentation.

Kindly help.

Tiffany,
For PPT 2003. Go to View - Master - Slide master - in the slide master
Format - Background - click the listarrow at the bottom, choose fill
effects, click on the picture tab, browse for your jpg, select and click
insert, OK, Apply to all.

What Luc said -- in addition if your designer provides two backgrounds, then
you'll need to use one of them for the Title Master.

Make sure you are in Slide Master view, and if you have no Title Master in
your Slide Master view, just choose Insert | Title Master.

Then use the plainer background for the Slide Master, and the more ornate
background for the Title Master.

Hi All,

Thanks very much for your great advice. Forgot to tell you that I am using
office 2007. Could you advise me how to do it cos PPT 2007 a bit different
from PPT 2003.

Thanks.

In PPT 2007 go to View | Slide Master, then right-click on the slide master
and choose Format Background. (The slide master is the big one at the top.)
Choose Picture or texture fill, then Insert from File. Navigate to the image
and insert. You don't have to hit "apply to all," because it will
automatically apply to all layouts based on that master when you do this on
the slide master.

If you have a different image for the title slide layout -- or any of the
other layouts, for that matter -- you can select them individually and use
the same steps to insert a different image as the background. Layouts are
the small thumbnails that inherit their settings from the large master
thumbnail. http://www.echosvoice.com/2007/editinglayouts.htm labels these
pretty obviously, which may help you.
