I need very simple security. What is the best way to put
a password on a backend(linked) date file? Can I just
password the backend file and when I open the frontend
file simply use that password?

I need very simple security.

There's no such thing. You can use the 'database password' but it is very
easily cracked. You can invoke user-level security but you would need to
invest a lot of time and effort into learning about it.
