BackColor Property

How can I discover the solid colors that will display on a flat-screen?

This problem arose while designing a report. However, I've posted here
because it would seem the problem might also arise when designing a form.

When I chose a light blue using a cathode-ray-tube screen, it displayed
perfectly. When the same color was displayed on a flat screen, the color had
a texture. I assume the flat screen is incapable of displaying the same
range of colors.

I have tried setting the BackColor property using the custom color palette
on the flat screen. As I slide the color arrow up or down, the solid colors
(as they appear above the word "solid") is very limited. I'm looking for a
light gray and a light blue. Any suggestions for RGB numbers would be
appreciated.

Also, any suggestions for showing only a palette of available solid colors
(ie those that will display without texture on a flat screen) would be
appreciated. I hope the solid-color range is more than in the standard
palette. And I hope there are some good pale colors, as strong colors are
inappropriate in Snapshot view and don't print well.

Incidentally, this problem relates to a report that has alternating light
gray (or light blue) bars for the Detail section using Access 2000.

TIA

You mean a standard LCD Flat Screen Monitor?
Are you using the same machine (PC) with both monitors, if not, have you
checked in Display Settings and the Color Quality setting?

Thanks for your reply.

I'm not at the flat screen machine while answering this but...
You mean a standard LCD Flat Screen Monitor?
Yes, I think so.
Are you using the same machine (PC) with both monitors...
Nope - I'm developing on a machine with a CRT and distributing .snp files to
a public folder on a server so that multiple flat-screen machines can access
the snapshot data.
.. if not, have you checked in Display Settings and the Color Quality
setting?
Yes. Set at maximum quality. (32 bit, if I remember right).

Problem is I can't change hardware or hardware settings across the
organisation. I can only change the colors in my Access reports to
something that'd be compatible on flat screens in use. Hence previous
request for help with color choices.

Any further info'd be much appreciated.
