The BBC website magazine has been running a series of very basic school tests to see how bright we all are after leaving school.

There are links to the tests below, some questions are really obvious, others are complete stinkers.

I was surprised at how I done, I was crap at Maths at school, and good at English, yet I done fairly Ok at Maths. Does real life and actually having to use Maths make you better?

See how well you do and post results here.

Of course I realise some of you may be answering this stuff in real life right now as part of school/college but for me it was quite some considerable time ago.

And no cheating, ya hear?

My scores:

English: 16/20
Maths: 17/20
History: 7/12
Physics: 6/10
French: 5/12
Geography: 9/14

I never was any good at French :D

I'm quite suprised at my Geography one - I didn't do that at GCSE, but I got A's in all the rest (and an A* in French) :)

French - Never studied
Geog - 6/14
hist - 5/12

Thought I'd do better at eng & worse at maths so that balanced out ok but physics was a real shocker. Was never to great at the long equations but always loved learning the concepts, theories & principals of physics.
Geography was pretty much what I expected, down here our geog lessons were pretty much based around NZ & Australia with a brief nod at the general locations of some European countries. Prety pathetic really. And the history we got taught down here was basically a waste of time BUT I would've still expected to do better that that as I love watching history doco's & would've thought I had absorbed a bit more than that. The battle of hastings one got me... should've read the question properly:).

& Bex, thumbs up (sorry, still no non txt smilies) & well done!!! Very impressive! :D

You really want to know ...

English: 4/20
Maths: 2/20
Physics: 2/10
French: 1/12
Geography: 3/14
History: 4/12

... only proves to me how I hated doing 'tests' and was always last. Some papers I would put my name on, hand it in within 30seconds, and leave.

I can read and write and I have a brain. :p
