Avoid confirming deletes of newsgroups posts?

D

Don C.

For email, I am using Outlook 2003, which calls Outlook Express 6 to
navigate the newsgroups (I don't understand why, but that's the way it is).

When reading email in Outlook, I can hit Ctrl-D to delete a message, and it
works with no questions asked: the message moves to the DELETED ITEMS folder
immediately.

However, when I use Ctrl-D to delete a posted item in a newsgroup, the
deletion requires a confirmation. This is really annoying, and I haven't
found a way to eliminate the need to confirm the deletion.

It seems as though there should be an OE 6 option in this regard (in the
registry, maybe?), but I haven't found it. Can anyone tell me how to
achieve this goal of obtaining deletes in newsgroups without the need for
confirmation?

Thanks,

Don C.

When you press Del to delete an e-mail, it goes into the Deleted Items
folder as a safety net should you want to retrieve it later. However,
pressing Del for a newsgroup post does NOT put that post into the
Deleted Items folder. There is no safety net other than the prompt.

You can use the Contact Us link at the bottom of Microsoft's home page
to submit feedback to suggest a Request for Enhancement to add an option
to eliminate the prompt when deleting a newsgroup post.
