Autoshapes don't display in Normal view

I have a client with PPT 2003 SP-1/Win XP. When she adds an autoshape to a
slide in normal view, none of the formatting appears - line color, fill
color, etc. The autoshape is visible in the thumbnail, Slide Sorter view,
printed and in Slide Show view. It is only in Normal view that the autoshapes
can not be displayed. We tried different printers, switching to B/W view.
This happens in all presentations. The same presentations are fine on other
PCs. Any ideas? Could this be some type of video driver issue?

Yes, it could be a video driver issue. Check for driver updates for the
video card. If that doesn't work, try setting back hardware acceleration:
