No, it does not open, I get a message saying:
"Windows cannot open this file"
File : main.hta
I researched the .hta file extension and found a definition that it's a
Hypertext Application file.
It looks like mshta.exe is the executable for this file, is that right?
I found mshta.exe in the Windows\system32 and Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386
I may have a MIME setting wrong, any suggestions?

When you double-click on it, does it open?

Yes, there is a main.hta file on the MSDN DVD

I tried another MSDN event DVD, with no success as stated below.
Authoring error on MDSN's part.
No other explanation I can think of.
Is there a "main.hta" doc in the root directory
of the DVD? That's what AUTORUN is pointed at...
The auto install program for a game worked properly on the drive.
:
You need to try another application CD, not
a music or video CD/DVD.
Like a software CD or similar.
See if the installation starts up automatically.
CDs and DVDs automaticaly start Windows Media Player.
I tried another MSDN Event DVD with the same result
:
Is Autorun working for other optical disks
but not this particular one?
When I insert the Best of Ready Launch tour 2005 DVD, nothing
happens,
probably a Windows registry setting but have no idea how to fix
it.
The DVD has an Autorun.inf file that looks like this:
[AutoRun]
OPEN="shelexec.exe main.hta"
ICON="icon.ico"
What do I need to do to correct this problem?
Thanks in advance for reply
