AutoRun NERO on insertion of Blank CD?

H

Harry Marnell

I use Nero to burn my CDs, but cannot figure out how to make the Nero app
begin when I insert a blank CD.

In My Computer >> M:/ (my burner drive) >> Auto-Play, and selecting Blank CD
in the dropdown, the choices it gives me are (a) Open Writable CD folder (b)
Burn CD with Real Player, or (c) Take no Action. I see no provision for
Using Nero or any other app. Is there a way to add Nero to these choices?

Nero was already installed when I converted from WinME to WinXP... would a
reinstall of Nero make any difference? TIA. Harry

Yep, uninstall, then reinstall Nero.
Then visit http://www.nero.com/en/631933457317970
for an update.

I don't think there is (other perhaps than by a bit of heavy registry
editing to change the Real Player case to Nero). Nero appear to
install an autoplay option for InCD for blanks, but not for Nero itself,

I always use Nero by loading the program (from a desktop shortcut, or
you could move it up in All Programs) and only when it is running and I
need the disk do I put one in. Usually at the Burn point; earlier if I
want to look at the disk type or import an earlier session

Thanks, Alex. However the uninstall/renstall of Nero did the trick (and I
only did it with Cleansweep, rather than with the Nero CD!) It then came up
as one of the selectable options when a Blank CD was inserted, and I was
able to check the "always use this" box. now when I shove a blank CD into
the writer, it opens Nero.
