I am having a problem with autoplay and removable media (camera and
SanDisk reader). I would like to have the autoplay start up my Picasa photo
manager program upon insertion of either the camera into the usb port or a
media card into the reader. So far I have not been able to make this work.
I am using XP home edition service pack 1 running on a Dell Dimension
8250. Autoplay works ok with CD music disks, DVD movies and CDR recording
and CD R/W disks. The camera and the media reader appear as a device with
removal storage when I click on My Computer. I am accessing the Autoplay
setup feature by right clicking on the drive and selecting properties then
on the Autoplay menu. I select the the content type as pictures and select
the action to use Picasa to download pictures. When I click OK and then
check the Autoplay action again the content type has reverted back to music
files. Using Tweak UI I can verify that the drives are selected, that
autoplay is enabled for removalable drives and the AutoPlay handlers are
present. Am I missing something? Is there something else I need to do?
