Automatically open list box on entering the cell

I have a cell that has a validation list. I would like it to either
automatically open the list or some other kind of autofill so that the user
can tab into the field and immediately start typing and have the list find
the entry. For instance, the user starts typing "Cal" and have the system
recognize that the user is typing California from the list (assuming there is
no other Cal type entry) and autofill similar to the way a list box works in
Access. Is there any way to do this in Excel? Thanks!!

Data Validation list dropdowns have no autocomplete feature.

You can use a combobox in conjuction with the DV
