Automatic Updates

I understood that M/S was reducing the frequency of its
updates. I seemed to be getting a lot of them (almost every
day) so I started looking at the update info. It turns out
that many of them are related to OutLook Express (which I
don't use) and have the number KB823353. I have probably
installed this update a dozen times and each time it says
it was successful. What gives?!
