Automatic updates settings protected

I have windows XP home edition SP2. I'm logged on as an administrator. My
automatic update settings are all grayed out. I cannot change them. How can
I get this window back into a modifiable state. I don’t think I’m running
any group policies being that it’s a home machine.

Thanks
Rick

I think it was my ISP's group policy. I made an adjustment to my registry
using information from a post from January 05.

Your ISP has no power to enforce Group Policies on your machine. Automatic Updates being greyed out may be a sign of a malware (virus, spyware, other) infection.
