Automatic send/receive

I have gone into Tools/Options/Mail Setup tab/Send-
Receive button.

With All Accounts highlighted, I have checked the
box "Schedule an automatic send/receive every 3 minutes"

but the program will not do automatic send/receives. I
have to click the send/receive button to send and
receive, even if I have just drafted an e-mail and
clicked send.

Is there something else I need to do to make this auto
send/receive function word?

Well, you could post your Outlook version, mail account types and the
connection types for each account. We really haven't much of a clue without
that information. Make sure you didn't inadvertently set yourself to Work
offline while you're checking.

Using Outlook 2002
Using 1 mail account, POP3 type
Connection is via Cable high speed internet

Connection type is specified in the mail account. Cable/high speed is not
among your choices. LAN, IE dialer or Phone Line are the 3 choices. What is
your set to?

Unless you're set to work offline, automatic polling will work once you
specify an interval. If it still isn't look for one of these two problems:
