automatic page breaks

Brian

I'm trying to make a document fit to 1 printed page. With
older versions of Excel, this was never a problem. With
2000 and 2003, under page setup, when I select landscape,
fit to 1x1 page, I get an automatic page break for every
cell in my worksheet. When I then view it in print
preview, it says that I have thousands of pages
(depending on the size of the worksheet). This also
generates an error message stating that "margins do not
fit page size".

I'll throw in a caveat, this is the behaviour on my
desktop machine. When I do the same thing on my laptop,
it works fine. I have the same print drivers loaded on
both, so I'm really confused about what configuration
setting I've bungled on my desktop machine.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Have you reset the print area totally in the document and started afresh?
Do you have columns and or rows selected in Print titles accessed through
PageSetup Sheet tab?

I had also encountered such a situation.

I was also given a file which when I had do a print
preview it came out exactly as you had experienced

In my case I fiddled around and discovered that if I went
into page setup to display page size and then only do a
print preview it worked.

Hope it also works for you

could you elaborate on the "display page size" comment?
I'm not sure what you mean by that.

Thanks,
Brian
