Automatic deletion of files fromthe recycle bin when I try to open

Hi

Can anyone help with this,

I've deleted files to the recycle bin, gone to restore these files from the
bin and they are visible when I open the bin, but all disappear within
moments of opening the recycle bin.

I'm running XP professional SP2

This only seems to be a recent thing, not sure whats changed, but I can't
find a setting that automatically deletes files when you open the bin.

Any ideas

Hi Boo:

I hope you have not lost something critical. Are you sure they are deleted
permanently? Do a Search on a file name you know you have placed in the Bin
( or create a "test" folder" with a unique name you can remember and then put
it in the Bin to see what happens). Make you sure you have "Show Hidden
Files and Folders" checked in the search parameters.

If you find yourself restoring files from theThe Recycle Bin often, consider
instead creating a folder on your desktop called "JUNK" or similar and
placing items there for some period of time until you are absolutely sure you
do not need them.
