autofit Column width- Ajit

I want excel to automatically adjust the column width to the length (autofit)
when I enter the bigger string in the same column. (e.g. when I adjust the
column width to fit the string "P" in col. A , it does not automatically
adjust the column width when I enter string "MIDDAY" in the same col. A.) I
know the
option of format/column width/autofit, but I want excel to automatically
adjustt
it. Pl. help.

That would require a macro. A way that's easier than what you're now doing
is to double-click the header divider, e.g., the line between the "A" and
the "B" in the top header.

Along the same lines, FWIW, don't get sidetracked with adjusting column width
(or any other formatting issue) every time you make an entry. Wait til you're
finished , double-click as Jim suggesyed & save your file. |:>)
