AutoFilter feature in Excel 2000

I have a spreadsheet with some 3800 rows by 13 columns wide.
One of the columns, which has a significant numbers of variations (names)
does not seem to function correctly with the AutoFilter feature switched on
in as much as it does not seem to pick up all the variations, in particular
the later ones.
Is there a limit to the number of rows for which AutoFilter will work.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Stephen,
Try trimming the cells with a macro such as TRIMALL in
http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/join.htm#debugformat

the instructions above will ask you to test the length of the cell
and some other tests
to make sure that what you think you see is what you actually have.

I don't think there is a limit on the number of rows you can filter,
certainly nothing appears in Specification Limit in help..
