autocomplete does not ask to save!

Steve

I have read all the responses to the recent questions
about autocomplete. None work or seem to apply.
I have the autocomplete settings correct - "user names and
passwords on forms" checked and "prompt me to save
passwords" checked. What seems to happen is that if the
first time you go to a certain site that asks for user
name and password, and the box pops up that asks you "do
you want to save the password" - If you select 'no' the
first time (like I did), then the next time you go to the
site and from now on, it won't ask to save user name and
password anymore! And I DID NOT select "don't ask me
again"
I need to get it so it asks me again on this particular
site! It will still ask me if I went to another new
website that asks for user name and password.
What is the fix for this???? Help!!!

thanks

Steve,
Try this:
Clearing all passwords should reset the "Save Password" option. IE> Tools>
Options> Content> Autocomplete> Clear Passwords.

Protected Storage PassView from http://www.webattack.com/get/pspv.shtml will
help you recover other cached passwords *before* you clear all passwords.

Thanks for the work around. Is this the only way? Was
hoping not to have to clear all the passwords.

Thanks again -
