Auto text entries are gone

I have seen other questions and replies to similar inquiries, but I'm still
not getting a solution to the problem I'm having with Auto Text entries.

I am using Word 2003 and have several Auto Text entries that are stored when
I click on the Auto Text icon and see the Auto Text tab. However, I almost
always use the "All Entries" icon on the Auto Text toolbar when I want to
select auto text to use. About a week ago, they were no longer available
using "All Entries;" instead of getting a drop-down list of choices, all I
get is a green box.

How can I go back to seeing my choices in a drop-down list after I click on
"All Entries." Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

If you are saying that the built-in AutoText entries have disappeared, that
is usually because something has happened to normal.dot (the blank document
template). Exit Word, and then locate normal.dot for example by searching
for it in Windows. Rename the file you find to, say, oldnormal.dot. When you
restart Word, a fresh copy with factory default settings will be created.
Does that help?

Stefan -- I apologize, I just got back to this now. I tried your suggestion
below, but the problem still exists.

Just to make sure I conveyed the problem correctly: The Auto Text entries
are there, but the only way I can use this feature is from the menu:
Insert-Auto Text-Auto Text tab and locating the Auto Text I wish to use.

When I use the "All Entries" button/icon on the Auto Text toolbar, get the
drop-down list and try any selection on that list, this is where all of the
entries are gone and only a small green box shows (containing now entries).
