Auto text disappears

I'm not that fast a typist, but the autotext suggestion shows for only one
quick keystroke and then disappears. If you want it back, you have to start
retyping the entire word/phrase all over again, and even then the suggestion
does not always re-appear.

This severely limits the usefulness of autotext for quasi-fast typists.

Is there a way to customize the length of time the suggestion remains. In
most instances, you should be able to choose it right up until you type the
last keystroke in the word/phrase.

I don't see where this extended timing can be enabled, if indeed such
customization exists in Word 2003. If this can be enabled through something
amended in the normal template or someplace else, please give step by step
instructions. Thanks.

There's no setting for that purpose, but it may help to use longer names for
your AT items - I believe the AutoComplete tip goes away when you strike the
first character that *isn't* a part of the name.
