Auto signature - What if WORD doesn't open as the default?

Attempting to create an autosignature which is a JPG. On this machine, if we
go to the "advanced edit" Note Pad or the like opens, not WORD or Front Page.

What do I have to do in order to make setting changes that will force WORD
to open instead? Yes, Word is noted as the default for the word processor...
