auto play

I am trying to install a game from cd(the sims ) I get a
message saying that it can not shut down auto play re
start your computer. I do that and still no change. I
have had this software installed before, but had to
uninstall. any help would be great

If you're having problems with autoplay, try temporarily disabling it when
inserting the CD-ROM; when you put in the CD, hold down the Shift key. Your
mouse cursor should show the CD icon like normal, but the autorun should not
start. At this point, open My Computer, right-click the CD drive, and click
Explore. Try running the setup file from the CD at this time, and see if
you have any better results.
