Vernon

I have an ADSL Broadband account (on tiscali.co.uk) with an Alcatel
Speeddial 330 USB modem.

It works fine, but irritatingly whenever I connect, it automatically opens
Internet Explorer with my ISP's home page.

I don't want it to open IE at all (I normally use Firefox), and if it must I
would prefer that it opens to my normal home page (which is still set up
correctly and comes up if I select Home)..

I don't think it is a hijacking problem, more something about the set-up of
the modem (it has done from day one), but I cannot track it down.

I have done searches for files (especially .INI) containing the word
"tiscali" without revealing anything which could be responsible.

Any ideas anyone?

Hi Vernon,

Looks like you're using the dialer software provided by your ISP, rather
than using the XP's in-built dialer. If that's the case, check the
manual/software help pages to disable that feature.

Thanks Ramesh, I will follow that up.
