Auto logon W2K Servers

Gary

I have about 10 W2K servers in a native mode 2000 domain
I need to logon automatically (with a domain user
account) then lock the concole after a re-boot.

Im thinking about using the steps in 310584 and placing a
shortcut in startup of all users with the below in the
target:
%windir%\System32\RUNDLL32.exe USER32.DLL,LockWorkStation

I have tested it and it seems to work fine. My concern is
the password is stored in plain text in the reg. Is there
a better way of approaching this. Possibly with a GPO or
other method ?

Thanks

Because I have different third party applications that
require an account to be logged in at the console in
order to keep the application up and running. If you
logout it quits the application. Bad Coding

What kind of an application is that? Can't you set it up as a service?
