Auto Correct- Suggestion

G

Guest

Whenever I type, Chairman or Landlord, the Word suggests Chairperson in place
of Chairman , and Property owner in place of landlord. I iuse Windows Xp and
Word 2000 and Word 2003.
Despite, clicking Ignore, word just marks these kind of words all the same,
and if this kind of words appear more then once in any document, the word
marks all as a sperate incidence..
What should I do to get rid of this kind of suggestions.?

It's not AutoCorrect, I don't think.

Go in Tools | Options, Spelling and Grammar. Click on Settings. Scrutinize
the list. You should be able to uncheck a setting that tells Word to flag
gender-specific words.

Additionally, having the "automatically use suggestions from the spelling
checker" checkbox selected in Tools | AutoCorrect *might* be acting in
conjunction with the previous setting to cause AutoCorrect to change this.

Just to confirm what Daiya said, in Word 2003, I find this setting at Tools
| Options | Spelling & Grammar | Settings: Style: "Gender-specific words."
