Authentication between 2 Server 2003 Domains

Here is the layout.

Temple - Server 2003 Standard - Linksys RV082
Houston - Server 2003 Small Business - Linksys RV082

I built a VPN between the 2 routers hoping that I could then build a
trust to allow users from each domain to access data from the other.
Once I got the VPN setup, I realized that the SBS Domain will not allow
Trust's to be setup.

My question is - How can I have users from one domain access data that
is in the other domain?

If the data doesn't have to be on the domain controller, you should be able
to set up local accounts on the server that match accounts in the other
domain. Of course if you're talking about lots of users, that might not be
an option. I recently set up a domain user account for a temp worker using
her own computer. She is now able to access the database and shares (on
domain controllers and member servers) just as she would from a domain
member workstation. I haven't tried it with a workstation that was a member
of another domain.

Have network of 3 XP pro computers plus an HP network printer. A Toshiba
laptop can see the other computers, use the printer, the Internet, etc. When
I 'View workgroup computers' from 'My Network Places' I get an icon for the
Toshiba but when I click on it a dialog comes up saying that it is
inaccesible and I don't have permision, etc. The networking protocols seem
identical on all machines, simple file sharing enabled, the usual things. In
fact all the settings seem identical. The only obviously odd thing is that
it is named 'Toshiba' and the icon is called 'Toshiba' ok, but then
underneath it a second line in brackets '(Toshiba)'. The other computer
simply come up with their names on one line. Please can anyone figure what
might be happening, and a cure? I think I have tried everything bar
installing XP again.

The second line is the description for the share. XP does some stuff "for
you", like find and share printers as part of the "simple" sharing. IF you
want to print directly to the network printer, it will have to be installed
on each machine using the HP software. If you want to print to it via the
share, you'll need to verify that it's shared on the first computer you
installed it on , and connect the others to that share.
