Aurora freezes MSAS

When I am doing a full system scan and MSAS comes across
Aurora in the registry, the program freezes and it eats
up my computer's virtual memory. Thing is, no other
antisypware program detects Aurora in my registry, or
anywhere else on my system. Any fixes or suggestions?

Try Counterspy. It uses the same definitions as MSAS and more.

Have you tried Lavasofts ad-aware, with their vx2 cleaner add on? At the
moment, that's the simplest best remover that I know of for this critter.
You can also try Microsoft Antispyware running a full, deep scan in safe
mode--but I don't know for sure whether this is effective with Aurora.
There are also several Aurora variants.

.
When using MSAS against Aurora recently, it could not
uninstall it but locked it down completely so that it was
not able to do anything from redirecting to pop ups. have
you updated you version recently? i had no problems with
Aurora locking me up at all, lots of problems trying to
remove it.

Did you try in safe mode? (with Aurora, this doesn't necessarily work, but
I'd be interested to know)

There are multiple variations of Aurora, so what works for one user doesn't
necessarily for another.
