Audio

I have a Windows 2000 and the audios seem to be not working. I tried the
troubleshoot but it did not help much. I have an amplifier which plays an
important role to my audio because it is needed in order to hear any sounds.
One speaker has two plugs, one which connects to the other speaker and the
other which connects to the amplifier. The amplifier itself has two plugs
itself. One of the amplifier's plug connects to the power supply and the
other which connects to the hard drive. Apparently it was working fine but
now the speakers play no sound. The power button on the speaker shows that it
is working fine but when I go to my Control Pannel then Sounds and Audio
Devices it says 'No Audio Device.' Everything is hooked up correctly and I
even tried unplugging and replugging all the cords back in. The only problem
I hear is that when one of the plugs, the amplifier plug which connects to
the hardrive, touches metal or my hand it makes a loud scratchy noise.

Please help me solve this problem, thank you.

You didn't say what was going on when this started, but as a potential fix I
would reinstall the drivers for the audio devices. You might have those on
a disc or you may need to download them.

I have tried reinstalling the drives and I have had no success with my computer I do not get any sound and I even bought new speakers to see if that is the problem. Is there anything else I might be able to try. I usually get a response that there might be another program that might be impeding my progress.

Have you recently installed a new audio program. Which program opens up
when you click on an audio file, such as mp3?
