Audio with still pictures

I am very new to WMM. I add the audio after I have the pictures set. But
when I add additional song or make changes to pictures, all my songs move way
off to the right of the timeline (past my timeline) and it takes a lot of
extra work to keep moving it back to the timeline I want, because it keeps
moving. If I want a specific song to match pictures is there a way to "lock"
the songs so they don't keep moving with each edit? Any advice would be very
appreciated.
