Audio speeds up....

When I import my movie onto the computer and play each clip, the sound is all
normal and good... But once I've dragged all of the clips onto the timeline
and play them all together, the video plays at normal speed but the audio
speeds way up, creating this terrible chipmunk voice in all of the actors.
It's very odd, and I'm not sure why it's occuring... Can anyone help shed
some light or how to fix it? Thanks!

The thing that's so strange is that when I play them individually, the audio
is fine, but when I put them together they get all crazy! Help! o.O

Most likely a codec issue, if you are using Movie Maker 2.1 go to the Tools
| Options | Compatibility tab and start unchecking items until you problem
is fixed.

Compatibility tab is implemented in Movie Maker 2.1 upgrade your windows XP
to SP2 and you will then have it.

Under Tools | Options there should be 3 tabs General | Advanced |
Compatibility If there is no compatibility tab then it can't be 2.1 or your
SP2 install of MovieMaker failed somehow. Look under Help | About and
version info should be 2.1.4026.0. If the install failed you could try and
manually re-register the files:

1. Go to your directory Program files | Movie Maker
2. Double click on all the files that start with WMM2 there should be (8)
if a dialog pops up asking which program to use to open this file, use
select program from list, then browse to c:\windows\system32\regsvr32.exe
and check the box always use this program to open this file type.
(If the .dll files open with something weird like notepad then you will
need to right click on the WMM2 files and choose Open with | Choose
program)
3. Not all 8 files will succeed in registering only 5 will
4. Go to start | run and type cmd in the text box and then hit ok this
will bring up a command prompt
5. Drag and drop from program files | movie maker the file moviemk.exe
into the command prompt box you opened in step 4
6. add a / regserver at the end of the line and press enter. (It will
look like this:) C:\Documents and Settings\your name>"C:\Program
Files\Movie Maker\moviemk.exe" /regserver
7. try Movie Maker again
