audio randomly stops

the audio on my computer randomly stops. when i restart
the application running the audio, it works fine for a
while then quits again. Its becoming a major headache.
Is their a fix for this? Dell already came and tried
switching the motherboard but it didn't help.

I am experiencing the exact same problems...no matter what
audio app I run, and audio files of every type, and
playing from hard drive and from CDROM drives!
I found somewhere that adjusting DMA settings might help,
but this is not an available option on my Dell Win2000
machine for some reason...?
if you happen to find a remedy (if u haven't already),
please let me know...and I'll be sure to do the same!
