What operating system are you using? If its XP then I would suggest taking a
look in device manager to see what state the audio device is indicating. If
theres an exclamation mark then that will indicate there is somehing wrong.
You can get there by right clicking My Computer from your desktop>Properties.
This will open the System Properties screen, select the Hardware tab>Device
Manager. If you are on Vista then I would imagine there is a similar process
but I`m not really sure. If there is a problem it is possible to Roll Back
the driver.

Hope this helps

Hello 1eye,

There is a saying if it ain't broke don't try to fix it.
-=-

Updates come in three flavors. The first are Important, or Critical,
Updates, which are necessary to install in order to fix security holes or
major issues within Vista.

The second type is Recommended updates, which are updates to various
components of the operating system that should be installed for proper
functionality.

The last type, called Optional Updates, are new features, updates, or
Ultimate Extras that are not necessary to install for proper functionality of
the operating system or applications

-=-

Do not install any driver updates offered by Windows Update. Get them
from the manufacturer's website instead.
