Audio - mono to stereo

I have a mono microphone. When I connect to my camera the sound track is
recorded only one channel. Is there a way to convert to stereo in Movie Maker
so when I output the finished file the sound is in stereo (albeit the same
both channels).

Papa thanks - I had a look at your stuff and Microsoft's but it is all so hard!
How about this: When I get to save the movie settings in WMM2 I get the
option I normally use to save as AVI. Is there a way I can just edit this
option to save as AVi in mono. I don't seem to be able to find where these
options are stored.

No, the DV-AVI saving choice doesn't have settings that you can tweak like
the WMV ones can be...

For your future camcorder work, you should get a little splitter cable that
feeds the mono of the mic into both of the stereo inputs on the camcorder.
But that doesn't help your already taken footage.

Another option is to use the Audacity utility to copy the one channel to the
other side... there's a link to it on my Setup > Other Software page. But
that involves a few file conversions.
