when i try to open movie maker a message appears saying:

Windows Movie Maker cannot be used because the required audio hardware
cannot be found on you computer.

just for some background on my movie maker problems, 2 weeks ago it was
working fine. last week i downloaded ie7. yesterday movie maker wouldn't even
open at all. after looking on here today i went back down to ie6 and now the
message pops up when i click on movie maker. if anyone knows how to help or
has any ideas that would be great!
thanks!

What about rebooting.

Use System Properties | Device Mgr | Hardware

Remove the audio device

Restart

Run windows updates

It should find the correct device and drivers

Restart

Now is works fine
