Is it possible to make audio fade (slowly decrease in volume) at the end of a
slide?

Neophyte,
Not in PowerPoint, you need an external program to work on the audio file. I
think Audacity can do this. And it's free!

Or do it manually.

Every PC has either a software or hardware volume control - it will differ
slightly from machine to machine. Check out your PC help files or manual.

Chris I know that. But how do you use the volume control to fade in or out a
file?
