When opening my Outlook the attachments will not open. Also, when I use my
web mail service (Comcast).. when transferring to Outlook they also
dissapear. I have Microsoft Office 2003, Windows Vista. I recently
purchased a new computer which came with the Windows Vista. This problem
occured after my new installation of my computer. I have a computer expert
in the family and he has been helping me for years and this one is baffeling
him too.

Define "will not open". Please be precise in describing the symptoms.

The attachment is not there...

I'm sorry, but that conflicts with what you said earlier that the
"attachments will not open". How do you even know you were supposed to have
received an attachment if there aren't any?

I know there are attachments as the "paper clip" icon is there along with the
fact they open in my website Comcast e-mail. I did this to check if it is
indeed "outlook" with the problem. I had them sent twice, I opened it in
Comcast website then the second message I went to Outlook to open and the
document is blank. this happens every time.

If you have your antivirus program configured to scan incoming mail,
uninstall the AV priogram and reinstall without the mail scanning feature.
Then try again. You will be no less protected.
