We are using Outlook 2002 on a Windows XP Pro machine. All Office updates /
Outlook updates have been installed. We recently began having a problem
where we can not open or save *.DOC attachments with long filenames.
For example:
When we try to view, open or save a file with the name
"Marcus Replenishment Form - Initial State.doc", we receive the following
error:
"Can't create file: Marcus Replenishment Form - Initial State.doc. Right
click the folder you want to create the file in and then click properties on
the shortcut menu to check your permissions."
The user is an administrator on the machine and has full access to all
directories.
I was able to open and save the file on another machine. I save the file as
"marcus.doc", resent the document as an attachment and the user could open,
save, etc the file.
Is there something with long filenames?
Has anyone else seen this problem?
