Attachments as email

Suddenly I cannot open any attachments that are in email form... pdf works,
links work, etc... but I can't open any emails that people forwarded within
their email. Suggestions??

Do you have Google Desktop Search installed? That's one of the known
problems.

I uninstalled Google Desktop (which I didn't even know was installed until I
checked!) and it worked!! Thanks soooo much!

i have tried these recommendations and then even rebooted but to no avail.
Im forced to "save as" then re-open twice after saving the attachment
elsewhere it's more than a pain.
