Attachment sent but not received

I have Outlook 2003. My associate emailed me a Word attachment. His Outlook
2000 showed it as sent. The attachment did not arrive with the message. Any
suggestions as to why? Thanks in advance for your help.
 
Hi Michael,

have you checked whether the attachment has been received as winmail.dat
file, there may be incompabality between the two mails or the mail may
containing HTML or RTF format, please see the mail properties at the end in
the attachement section if you can see the winmail.dat download that
attachment and extract your attachemnt from that file.
