Attachment Options in Outlook 2007

I can't find any way to "shrink" a 3MB photo to a more manageable size. In
Outlook 2003 there is the obvious "options" menue that pops up when an
attachment is...attached. How do you adjust that in Outlook 2007?

When you insert a picture, you should see the contextual Picture Tools -
Format tab appear. On that tab, click on Compress Pictures (the picture
needs to be selected for this to work).
Does that get you anywhere?

When you say "insert" are you saying "embed"? When I put the picture into the
body of the letter I can shrink it and compress it. But I can't seem to be
able to see the Picture Tools thing for an attachment. I'll go back and look
again. I'm getting a little denser as I get older, I can't even find the
buttons to rate you with!! TOP RATING by the way--your Web site is very
informative although I haven't had the time to really look yet. Thank you!!

Yes, I meant embed. Sorry. For an attachment, you need to do the
following:
Add the attachment, then click on the label "Attach File" (not the icon,
but the label below it). Then select attachment options. Then click on
your file in the attach field. That should show you the Attachment
Options taskpane from 2003 and also give you the option to resize the
picture.
Interestingly, Attachment Options is only shown as menu item once you
have an attached item. And when I didn't select the attached file, I
looked at an empty task pane. Seems like I need to bug this.
I didn't even know there were rating buttons ;) I access the newsgroup
directly with a newsreader and not via the web interface. Hence I don't
see any of that. Thanks for the compliment :)
