ATI TV Wonder will not totally uninstall...

WayneD

In the following sequence I have uninstalled my ATI TV
Wonder software:

1. Uninstalled the drivers
2. Removed from the registry every reference to ATI TV
Wonder
3. Run Registry cleaner in Ashampoo which also cleaned
the registry
4. Ran Start up organizer which did not show any
reference to ATI software (ie TV Wonder)
5. Shutdown the system
6. Removed the TV Wonder card
7. Restarted the system....
8. Checked out hidden files in Device Manager (Plug &
Play) where there was no reference to ATI...

Only to find the Windows XP Service Control Manager
continues to look for the drivers for the TV Wonder. As
the hardware is no longer present the event viewer
generates and logs an error message as follows:

"The service cannot be started either because it is
disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated
with it"

I have what I thought done everything possible to
eliminate the errro message in the Service Control
Manager however, clearly somewhere in my system the
remains of a starting string remain which I have yet to
locate. Can anyone provide me with some clear instruction
on how to strip my system of this annoying problem. This
is thing is driving me crazy.....

Hi,

Xp has the memory like an elephant. Have you check for
all the softwares that bundled with ATI all in wonder?
for example, hypervision?
Run msconfig and click the startup tab and see anything
related to ATI.
Run regedit
HKEY Local Machine/software/microsoft/windows/current
version/run and check the right pane for any ATI related
command
