ATI MMC v8.8's MPEG-4 support & client for LAN streaming videos?

I noticed a new version 8.8 and installed it to replace my v8.7 with
the new drivers

According to http://www2.ati.com/drivers/mmc88_release_notes.html#167244
.... EAZYSHARE lets you watch videos on LAN (client + server). Is it
possible for non-ATI users to watch videos from the computers with ATI
Radeon card? Also, in Linux, MacOS X, etc.

Capturing to MPEG4 Format... How do I record with captions in MMC? Or
do I still have to use VCR format for this option?

Thank you in advance. :)

You need an ATI card on the client to use eazyshare.

I know that, but I was hoping there was another program to use for
computers without ATI cards and doesn't use Windows. :)

Get an MSI TV Tuner... It already has this feature and doesn't complain
about what kind of video card you have.

Maybe next time. I just bought this card like two months ago. :)

Does it support ATI's VCR file format? That is what I am using to record
high quality video and captioning. I do not see this video format listed on
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/features.html ...

If you just want to stream videos on your lan you can use Windows media
encoder on your
video server. It streams the video via HTTP protocol so the client is OS
neutral. You would need
to find a client app for your non windows box. Windows media player works ok
for windows
boxes.
