ATI 9700 pro and StarWars Battlefront

Blade Runner88

Hi all

My game crash to desktop 2 seconds after clicking on the shortcut to start
it

I have a radeon 9700 pro, with the 4.9 cats drivers, tried also the 4.7 but
still no go, it's the only game that's doing this...

I've played a lot of BF desert combat, BFV, Painkiller, Far Cry, Call of
Duty and more

I've bought the game yesterday and cannot play, it's money in the trash
until a patch or a working solution.

Thank's.

I'm playing it fine with a 9700 (actually 9500@9700).

In my case I had some problems with sound, I had enabled EAX while using
nForce2 soundstorm sound. When I disabled it, the crashes stopped.

You could also try looking in the trouble.rtf file that is located in your
game directory, in "docs\english".

Thank's for your reply, I've looked in the file trouble.doc but nothing
helped, they ask to send the AnalysisLog.sr0, but there is no e-mail, on
yoda's page you can explain your problem but cannot attach a file.

I'm waiting for a reply from the technical support of Lucas, but I have no
hope that they can help me further.

i tryed all diferent settings with sound and video and cant make the game
crash.single player only so far my net was out for a while.
only thing i can think of that may be a problem is your 9500 clocked at 9700
speed.
my hardware is as follows
biostar M7ncd pro
amd 2500+
1 gig ddr 3200
sb audigy 2 zs
ati 9700pro 4.9 drivers

Blade Runner88

Here are my system spec :

Windows XP pro
Asus A7N8X V2.0 Deluxe Mobo
AMD Barton 2500+@2100 mhz (175X12)
2 X 512 MB kingston HyperX PC3200 Dual Channel
2 X WD Caviar SE 60 gig hard drives 8 megs cache (raid 0)
1 Maxtor 40 gig HD
Adaptec 1200A raid card
ATI 9700 pro with Cats 4.9
DVD Rom pioneer
Audigy 2 zs
Klipsch promedia 4.1
Antec Sonata case with 380 watts PSU

How do you disable EAX if the game dont start at all ?

One thing I just seen is that my speakers settings has changed when I try to
start the game from 4.1 to 2.1 speakers in my system configuration ??!! The
game crashed right after that.

have you tryed not overclocking the cpu?
ops sorry i thought you were the one with the 9500 clocked at 9700 speed.
i did run in to one problem with sound when i set it up for 5:1 lost sound
for a few min but it came back and works fine now after disableing built in
sound in bios.
i had the built in sound card still activated "i have no idea why i had it
set up lol".
i take it you reinstalled direct x just to rule that out?

I've found out what was the problem, I have to change my regional settings
to English (United States) to get the game to start and the fact that the
settings of my sound card changed was because the game was not configured to
have 4 speakers at the beginning, once it's started and changed to 4
speakers in the game settings, everythings is ok.

Thank's all for your replies )
