I just mounted a new motherboard.(Asus P4S800ME SE with BOIS 5.02 and
Celeron 2.4 Ghz
I use the onboard vga controller.
When I want to install WinXP then the system boots to the prompt. "Hit
any key to boot from CD
When I hit the key I get the message "Checking your hardware
configuration.
Then the message disapears (screen blamk) and the CD-rom Spins to high
speed but nothing happens.
I already updated Bios to the latest version 7.08.

Who can help?

Tanks.

And in bios setup, the CD drive was set up as the first
boot device? Updating bioses tend to revert them to a
default state, which usually means the first boot device
is the floppy disk drive.

Yes the CD-Rom is the firts to boot. As you can see above it boots from
the CD-Rom but after message checking hardware it fails.

B.T.W. I just have a new bios in my mail from Asus I will try it
tonight.

Regards.
