R

Richard K Rabbat

hello all,

I just purchased a Asus A8V Deluxe ver 2.00. (Original BIOS 1010.003)

What version bios did your motherboard come with?

if you have a similar system are you experiencing and issues with it?

what are you configurations? Bios? Hardware?

1- system is up and runing as of Friday May 27th.
a- Asus A8V deluxe ver 2.00 (as writen on board). Bought at
www.newegg.com
b- AMD athlon 64 3500+ venice core. (retail box, bought from
www.zipzoomfly.com)
Stats from the infor on the core is (as writen on the CPU).
Athlon 64
ADA3500DAA4BP
LBBLE 0515FPAW
Z634404D51185
c- Corsair CMX512-3200C2
d- WD raptor 74gb x2 on promise raid. running 2+0 stiped (speed)
other storage, WD 250gb (7200/8mb) on PRImary IDE as master, hdd set to
master.
problems with this drive is that is does not show up in window at times.
What is mean is, as of right now it is fine and active. Other times (while
the bios boots) not a startable disk, hit any key (or something like that, i
didn't write it down sorry).

Does your system seem sluggish at times? I have gone through the bios
several times, and everthing looks good. Oh yeah I've updated the bios to
1011.007 dates 4/7/2005. I also downloaded 1013-005.zip (it failed three
times, then I stoped)

shoot me your opinions...

Richard

One hint, from the Asus website, is that the 1010 bios was only up
briefly. They generally keep older versions up (1009, 1008, 1007,
etc.) but 1010 bit the dust pretty soon after 1011 showed up.

This may be a clue to a possible problem with 1010.
